Commercial Property
We handle a variety of transactions for individuals and property developers and investors.

Our areas of work include:
  • Buying and selling both freehold and leasehold commercial property
  • Development and construction of commercial property
  • Auction sales and purchases
  • Leases and Licences
  • Business sales and purchases
Wills, Trusts and Estate Planning
We are pleased to assist in the drawing up of Wills to include advice on Inheritance Tax, amendments to Wills where necessary and administering Estates to lead to Grants of Probate or Letters of Administration where no Will exists.

Increasingly we are consulted in relation to disputes on Estates and our litigation bias is of great assistance in this work.
Family and Children
The first thing a client seeks in a family lawyer is someone who will listen to their problem, however great or small it might be, and offer them advice that is not just sympathetic but also realistic and constructive.. Very often the pain and distress of dealing with a family / relationship breakdown can be made worse by anxiety about the procedure and the costs involved in resolving matters. Our aim from the outset is to help you through that process in a way that will achieve a satisfactory outcome without too much cost and additional anguish. Your interests come first and we aim to ensure that we listen to what you want to say whilst at the same time giving you the advice that you need. We firmly believe that an approach based on seeking a sensible and practical resolution to the issues that are raised is in the best interests of our client and we believe we can offer the right blend of experience and knowledge to guide you through the processes.

We deal with all aspects of family law relevant to both married and unmarried couples involving both financial issues and those relating to children. All of the work is handled by a partner, Mr Antony Randle, who is a Member of Resolution (formerly the Solicitors Family Law Association - www.resolution.org.uk) and the Law Society’s Family Law Panel. He has extensive experience of appearing in all of the local County and Family Proceedings Courts and Legal Aid is available to those clients who qualify for it on financial grounds. We also offer an initial fixed fee interview (for those not eligible for Legal Aid).

Personal Injury
We have many years experience of this work, primarily Claimant biased (but with some Defendant work too).

Personal injury work undertaken varies from road traffic accidents to accidents in the home or at work. Cases covered are as diverse as yachting mishaps to asbestos claims.

We act on a Conditional Fee Arrangement basis or if the client requires it on a private basis.

Clinical Negligence

We have many years of experience of Clinical Negligence work and have acted primarily for young children arising from medical negligence at birth.

David Tracey’s cases have included a number of multi million pound awards and his work in Clinical Negligence has been Claimant based only.

Our cases are funded on a Conditional Fee Arrangement basis or privately if required by our client, but not by Legal Aid for this area of law.
General Litigation
Our ethos at Redferns is that litigation should be avoided wherever possible. But when committed we are tenacious in pursuing our client’s case whilst constantly assessing risk and reward.

We have a wealth of litigation experience ranging from County Court claims to multi million pound High Court cases but we begin each litigation instruction with a thorough appraisal of chances of success and the costs of each individual case.
Licensing
In this ever changing area of law we can offer specialist assistance in the granting, renewal or extension of Alcohol Licences whether or not incidental to the sale and purchase of a licensed building.

With the recent overhaul in the application procedure and the ever changing nature of this politically sensitive area we can offer guidance and representation in the application process to try and help you achieve your desired outcome.

We can offer advice to:
  • Shops
  • Restaurants
  • Off-licences
  • Public houses
  • Bars
Company work
We act for a small number of companies whether by retainer agreement or on an ad hoc basis.

The strength of this work is reflected in the fact that most of these companies have been instructing us for several or more years.

Company work is performed on a private or Conditional Fee Agreement basis.
